Things are starting to speed up

This week rehearsals started, meaning my life after 7 pm is devoted to the show. It will probably make doing homework a bit more difficult. Yay being busy all the time. Its like high school all over again. Speaking of high school I went back to see the dinner theater put on by my high school and then hung out with some of my friends who are still in school. It was like the weirdest dream ever. I couldn't fathom being back at the school and not being in productions. It gives me the chills just talking about it. Saturday I made the journey to Boulder to visit Taylor and hang out with all the boys. Seriously, all boys. I was the only girl. It was fantastic! Sunday was my mom's birthday so we went shopping before I went back up to school. SO even though everything is starting to pick up I don't have a lot to say. I'm still trying to find my niche and people who I can be really close with. We will see how the next few weeks go, as exams start, I signed up for a retreat and play practice gets going in full swing.  Until then I plan to keep loving college life.

I'm proud to be a CSU Ram!

This week was insanely busy! On Monday I had auditions, Tuesday led to hours of squares for production class, Wednesday was callbacks and swing dancing on the plaza, Thursday we got cast in a YPO show and Friday we got Sushi with the girls from the floor.

Auditions were relatively painless and they obviously ended up well for me in the end because I got a callback. YPO shows are student run so hopefully they won't take up a bunch of time and will be a bunch of fun, plus I have a ton of lines!!!!

Swing dancing was a blast because unlike the swing I keep running into on my floor is country swing. Friday was lots of fun with the girls night since we got all dressed up and went to old town.

Saturday was the best day of all since it was the day of the CU vs. CSU football game. Abbey and I went to visit the Boulder boys which meant charting into scary territory!!! though a guy told us we were too pretty for CSU, I was okay with that "insult" though. The game involved lots of cheering and screaming and dissing CU. I also made a bet with Taylor that who ever lost had to wear spirit gear for the winning team for an entire week. This was the best bet I've ever made because WE WON!!!! Now Taylor has to wear CSU stuff for a week. BECAUSE I'm proud to be a CSU RAM!!!!

After the game I went to Jamie's wedding with Taylor, Abbey and Kier. Where we danced some awkward moves and eventually pigged out on cake. The weekend at home was definately relaxing and filled my homesick needs.

Abbey and I sent the boys a condolence for their loss batch of cookies! I can't wait to hear all about their reaction to it!

Week 1= Success

Abbey and I found out we had to audition next Monday so we spent a lot of time this week searching for and memorizing monologues. So far my classes seem fun, interesting and I can understand all of my professors. I sure it will be a lot of reading and writing though! I already had a project due too!
We went to Amanda, Megan and Cam's house warming in Boulder and stayed the night at Taylor's apartment on wednesday! It was a fun get away and something we would have never been able to do if we were in college.
Friday I came down with the worst migraine I've had in a really long time so I spent most of my day sleeping and trying to keep food down but I mustered up all my strength to go to the Volleyball game, that way I wasn't completely wasting my first real Friday in college.  Then Taylor came to see me on Saturday evening so I got to see him twice in one week! We visited his best friend Jesse and watched the finale to Game of Thrones. Sunday night there was mass on the grass which was really cool and afterward I engaged in an intense game of ultimate frisbee!

All moved in and ready to go!

I packed up all my stuff and made my bed for the first time in months and left what I knew as mine to the unknown. It took about an hour and a half to get to Fort Collins and after hours of arrangeing and rearragning Abbey and I ended up with the sweetest set up on 3rd floor Aspen.
We went to lunch with the family and then were rushed off to a floor meeting and some welcome activities to get to know our neighbors. It was a whirl wind of fun and excitement but it made for some pretty hasty good byes with the parents. :(

In the end Ram Welcome week was a lot of fun I found out the people on my floor are awesome and they are going to become some of the closest people I know. I love that we all share a common desire for community. I met so many people and I failed at remembering names.

We made a trip to super target that was meant for only CSU freshman. It was crazy!!!!! Then we finished off the night watching brother bear in our neighbors room.

The night before classes started everyone was extremely exhausted! I went to church which is the cutest church ever and I can't wait to get involved and eat all the free food after mass.  That night to kick off the end of summer we made a colossal amount of puppy chow in our dorm room and fit like 20 people in to join us.

I can't wait to see what this year will bring!

Revelations

I have less than a week until I move up to Colorado State University. It's all so surreal. Some of my best friends have already left for their journeys. Some who are older than me never came home this summer. It has been a summer of transition, of learning, and of accepting. I know there is no way to keep in daily contact with all the wonderful people that have crossed my path over the years but I hope they all know what an impact they have made in my life. It is because of the people I met, mostly through theater, that I know I am ready to move on to the next stage of life. They have helped me get this far the next step is up to me.  Thankfully, I have Abbey at the same school and Taylor not to far away to help keep me balanced.
I AM READY!
Watch out world here I come.
